The search for satellites outside the solar system

Astronomers say they have discovered the first satellite outside the solar system. If astronomers’ claims are true, then the potential planet orbiting this satellite is about the size of Jupiter, but about 10 times the mass of Jupiter. And the size and mass of the satellite is equal to Neptune.

The satellite was discovered by NASA’s Kepler Space Telescope. Astronomers will make further observations with the Hubble Telescope in October.

A research report has been published on the RGV pre-print site, the BBC reported.

So far, more than 3,000 planets have been found outside the solar system. However, the search for satellites outside the solar system has been going on for a long time, but due to the lack of necessary technology, it has not been found for so long.

Columbia University in New York, Assistant Professor of Astronomy. David Kipping says he spent most of his adult life looking for a satellite outside the solar system.

The probable satellite is named Kepler 1625b. The satellite is located around a star 4,000 light-years from Earth.
