The History of the first mosque in Medina

History of the first mosque in Medina built by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)

Allah sent Hazrat Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to the world as the last and greatest Messenger, including the true religion. After attaining prophethood, the Prophet began preaching Islam in Makkah.

This increased the level of torture against him. (mosque in Medina)

As the level of persecution increased, the Prophet (peace be upon him) left Makkah with his beloved companion Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) for Madinah on 22 September 622 AD.

The people of Medina were overjoyed to hear the news of the arrival of Priyanbi. People from all walks of life in Medina used to gather every day at the place called Harra in Kuba Palli, three miles away from Medina, to greet the Prophet. Everyone would go home disappointed not to see him.

One day a Jew climbed the wall of their fort and saw the dust of the desert flying far away and informed the people of Medina of his arrival. Immediately, the people of Madinah welcomed the Prophet with great affection and love.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) first came to Madinah and received the hospitality of Kulsum ibn Hidam. He stayed there for 14 days. The Prophet Kulsum ibn Hidam (may Allah be pleased with him) built a mosque at the place where the dates were dried. This is the first installation of Muslims in the history of Islam.

Which is located in Cuba. This is the historic mosque in Kuba.

The mosque is the first mosque of Muhammad in the Cuba Ummah. In terms of honor and dignity, Masjid Haram, Masjid Nawabi and Masjid Aqsa are followed by Kubar Masjid. Concerning the mosque of Kuba, Allaah says, ‘The mosque which has been established from the first day on taqwa (the mosque of Kuba) is more deserving that you will stand there to perform the prayers. There are people out there who love to achieve holiness better. And Allah loves those who purify themselves. ‘(Surat at-Tawba: 106)

Since its inception, the mosque has been renovated and rebuilt many times. The mosque was first renovated and rebuilt during the caliphate of Hazrat Uthman Radiyallahu Anhu, the third caliph of Islam after the Prophet. Since then, the mosque has been rebuilt and renovated seven more times.

The mosque was last rebuilt in 1986 as it was very old and dilapidated. A kind of high-quality white stone was used in the reconstruction of this mosque.

The present Kuba Mosque is located in a very beautiful and pleasant environment. There are 4 lovely minarets at the four corners of the mosque and the two-story mosque has 5 relatively small domes including 1 big dome on the roof of Kubar. Moreover, on the other side of the roof, there are many dome-shaped figures. The surrounding palm groves and forests have made the beauty of the mosque incomparable. When you see it, your eyes are covered. Seeing the mosque in the yellow afternoon of sunset fills the heart.

The mosque in Medina is located on the southwest side of the Nawabi Mosque.

The distance from Nawabi to the mosque is only 3 • 25 km. After the migration, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) spent 10 years in Medina. At that time, Bishwanabi used to ride a camel to Kuba Mosque on foot and perform two rak’ats of prayers there.

Hazrat Usaid Ibn Hujaib Al Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘Praying once in the mosque in Quba; In terms of thawab, it is equivalent to performing an umrah. ‘(Tirmidhi)

Due to this unique honor and dignity of Kubar in the mosque, even after the demise of the Holy Prophet, Hazrat Abu Bakr, Hazrat Omar, and other eminent Companions used to come to the mosque from Medina to perform Kuba in imitation of the Holy Prophet

At present, there are many beautiful mosques in Medina. Kuba is one of the most beautiful mosques in the world after Nawabi. For Umrah, Hajj and visitors, Kuba is a unique symbol of reward and beauty in the mosque.

May Allah grant the Muslim Ummah the Tawfeeq to visit Kuba in the mosque and perform prayers there during the pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina.

Amen.
