Files that slow down the computer

The computer stores some files that are useless. These files slow down the computer. You can save a lot of space on your computer by deleting unnecessary files. At the same time, the speed of your computer will increase.

The Hibernation File

If you hibernate the computer, all the work of your computer is saved in some files. And these files remain on your hard drive. Later when you run the computer again, the work starts again from there. But you don’t need these files anymore. So to delete the hibernation file, you need to right-click Shift in Command Prompt and click Run As Administrator. Then at the command prompt type “powercfg.exe / hibernate off”.

Temp Folder

All temporary Windows files are saved in the Temp folder. For example, if you open the image folder on the computer, all the image thumbnails will be displayed in File Explorer. From there you can choose the picture and open your favorite picture. But Windows creates a file to show these thumbnails. Which is no longer useful on your computer.

C: These files are saved in the WindowsTemp path. Go to this path, press ‘Ctrl + A’, select all the files and press the delete button. Here you will be prompted not to delete this file. Ignore and delete all the temp files on the computer.

Recycle Bin

Whenever you delete a file or folder by pressing delete from the computer, it is not completely deleted from your computer. These files are saved in your recycle bin. Later you can restore any file or folder in the recycle bin if you want. And these files take up a lot of space on the hard drive. So you can go to the recycle bin and delete each file separately. Or if the Recycle Bin doesn’t have any necessary files that you may need in the future, you can right-click on the Recycle Bin and select ‘Empty Recycle Bin’. After confirming, the recycle bin will be completely empty.

Windows.old Folder

When you update Windows, some old Windows files remain on your computer. If there is a problem with the update, Windows will save this file to go back to the old version. However, these files are automatically deleted 10 days after the update. You can delete these files within 10 days.

Downloaded Program Files

These files are created for Internet Explorer’s ActiveX control and Java applet. These files are of no use later. So if you want you can delete these files.
