Find out why ‘XXX’ is written in porn Movies
Although ‘X’ in the arithmetic book signifies an unknown quantity, it is not the case on the movie screen. ‘X’ is a special kind of picture mark there! Pornography. But why do the marks of ‘X’ mean those pictures?
In an open porn movie, ‘X’ is written as an abbreviation of the word ‘Explicit’. Behind this is the ‘Mpa’ or Motion Picture Association of America classification of images. In 1986, the United States launched four types of photography categories. ‘G’ (General), ‘M’ (Machior), ‘R’ (Restricted) and ‘X’ (Explicit). This was the beginning even though the division later changed. Interestingly, there was ‘explicit’ but not just sex. In the case of any kind of violence, this ‘X’ was meant to mean excess.
But here’s the thing. All of these categories had trademarks. That is, no producer or director could use the brand of any category in his film as he wished. The Motion Picture Association would look at the picture carefully, determine which rating would apply to it, and determine the mark. That symbol (‘G’, ‘M’ or ‘R’) was then used in the picture. The only exception to this approach was ‘X’. Writing ‘X’ in the picture did not require MPA’s approval.
By the way, to increase the attractiveness of the picture, many people started adding the ‘X’ sign in the picture by themselves! The viewers also had the advantage of recognizing the ‘naughty’ picture, falling prey to the lure of the open warm scene. After that, in the greed of more viewers, many people started increasing the number of ‘X’s’ in his films. Some gave two, some three. The more ‘X’, the more sex! The current concept remains the same — the number of ‘X’s’ explains how hard porn is.
But in fact, there is no recognized reason behind such a trend. There is no such thing as ‘XXX’ as the Motion Picture Association, there never was. Born as a marketing strategy, the three mischievous ‘X’s’ has spread all over the world. Some have gone beyond the three!
