United States: Bangladeshi body recovered from a house in Dallas

Bangladeshi body recovered from a house in Dallas

Police in the US state of Texas says they have recovered the bodies of six Bangladeshis from a house in Dallas.

They received a phone call Monday morning local time and went to a house in Dallas to find the bodies.

They were rescued a while ago and taken for autopsy.

They are all Americans of Bangladeshi descent and members of the same family.

Police say, two members of the family, two university-educated brothers, committed suicide after killing their father, mother, sister, and grandmother.

Police said in a Facebook note written before the incident that the two brothers were suffering from depression.

The youngest of the two brothers detailed the history of their depression, murder plans, and incidents in a long Facebook note.

Nahida Ali, secretary of the Bangladesh Association of North Texas, told the BBC that the whole Bangladeshi community in Texas was shocked by the sudden incident.

“The family was tidy and peaceful. They had a reputation for cooperating with neighbors and others. The three children were very talented. The little boy left a note on Facebook. There he said he and his brother had been suffering from depression for a long time,” Mrs. Ali told BBC Bangla.

Nahida Ali said the little boy wrote in his note that they had been receiving treatment for depression for a long time, although he had never shared any of this with others from the family.

Lablu Ansar, a correspondent from New York, said the bodies had been recovered from the scene and taken for autopsy.

At the time, local police said they believed the killings and suicides had taken place last Saturday.

The family’s youngest son posted details on Facebook about their suicides and the killings of others, with local police describing it as a ‘story of despair’.

In the note, the little boy wrote that he has been suffering from extreme depression since 2016.

He and his older brother have been suffering from depression for some time now.

According to Lablu Ansar, what the little boy wrote on Facebook shows that the two brothers had planned together.

They called their sister from New York for the Family Gate Together, and her grandmother was due to return to Bangladesh last month but could not return due to the coronavirus epidemic.

Mr. Ansar said the old Dhaka family had been living in Texas for eight years and before that, they had lived in New York.

More members of their families are in the United States and they have moved there after receiving the news.

The two brothers who committed suicide were students at the University of Texas at Austin.

Lablu Ansar says in the Facebook note even the little boy described how they collected the gun.

“The elder brother went to the shop. He said that a gun was needed for the security of the house.

The shopkeeper handed over some forms and the brother signed them.

Meanwhile, many Bangladeshis living there have gathered in front of the house since dawn after the incident was announced.

Nahida Ali says that after the autopsy is done, the bodies will be returned from the police and ancillary activities will be held.
