Popular Asian snacks set a world record by making giant horns. The 153.1 kg Singara was made in London. Twelve volunteers from Muslim Aid UK Charity first made the giant singara and then deep-fried it in the vat of the East London Mosque.

Guinness Book of World Records officials overseeing the whole process recognized Singara as the largest Singara in the world. The previous record was held by Bradford College. In June 2012, they made 110.7 kg Singara in North England.

“My heart was pounding,” said Farid Islam, the organizer of the event. Was very worried. The horn seemed to break. I was scared when I caught a crack. The huge horn made for 15 hours was distributed to more than a hundred homeless people.
