How to understand if your mobile is official or unofficial
Telecommunications regulator BTRC is going to implement the technology from next April to stop illegal and fake mobile handsets.
If the technology is turned on, it will not be possible to keep the illegal handset in the hands of the customer. No other operator’s SIM will work. The regulatory body is going to implement this initiative taken in 2012 after almost eight years.
BTRC had been warning buyers in advance about buying mobile handsets. Before buying a mobile handset, you have to check the validity of the set through IMEI. You have to take the receipt of the purchase of the handset from the seller.
