What is coronavirus, its causes, symptoms, treatment and prevention

At present, there is panic all over the world. The main reason is the corona virus. The virus was first reported in China. Slowly it is spreading all over the world. The virus has also been reported from other countries, such as Thailand, Japan and the United States. So, there is panic among people all over the world about this deadly virus. The World Health Organization (WHO) is promoting how to treat people infected with the virus.

Medical experts believe that the new type of coronavirus came from the family of SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) virus, which caused more than 600 deaths and thousands of infections in 2003.

They added that the virus is spreading from animal products or seafood found in the Chinese market to humans. So let’s find out what the coronavirus is and how it spreads.

What is the coronavirus?

Coronavirus refers to many viruses of the same genus, which are found mainly in animals. Bird flu or SARS virus also belongs to this genus. Human coronavirus is a type of zoonotic disease that spreads from animal to human.

There are many species of the virus. But, so far scientists have identified about six coronaviruses, which affect humans and cause mild to severe symptoms.

The first human coronavirus was discovered in 1970 in a patient suffering from a cold. The name corona virus is based on its shape. The virus is called ‘corona’ because it looks like a crown under an electron microscope.

People often become infected with the corona virus at some point in their lives, recover and become infected again a few months later. The human body can be infected with six types of corona viruses, namely – alpha corona virus (NL63 and 229E), beta corona virus (HKU1 and OC43), and the other two SARS and Mars are known for their deadly symptoms

The reason for the spread of the human corona virus

The human coronavirus usually affects a person’s airways. Infected fluid passes from one person to another during coughing or sneezing. Also, if an infected person sneezes or coughs in the open air without covering his mouth, the virus spreads through the air.

Other causes of the spread of the virus are handshake with an infected person, touching the nose or mouth together with an infected object, and in rare cases, touching the patient’s excrement.

Symptoms of human corona virus

NL63 and 229E, HKU1, and OC43 cause flu-like symptoms that range from mild to moderate in size. Mars and SARS, on the other hand, cause fatal symptoms. The previous symptoms are –

A) Cold

B) Sore throat

C) Cough

D) Headache

E) Fever

F) Sneezing

G) Exhaustion

H) Difficulty breathing

In this case, the immune system is weakened and the elderly are more likely to be infected with the virus and more likely to develop serious illnesses such as pneumonia or respiratory illness. The symptoms of MARS and SARS are severe, leading to severe respiratory problems, kidney problems, diarrhea and even death.

Diagnosis of human corona virus

Human coronavirus is diagnosed through certain tests, such as –

Molecular test: to detect signs of active infection.

Serology Test: This test is intended for monitoring. This is done to detect antibodies from previous infections, which reveal a person’s type of virus.

Human CoronaVirus Treatment

Its exact treatment has not yet been discovered. Several vaccines are still being studied. However, there are many helpful medical methods and medications that can treat mild to moderate symptoms. For example, medicines for the treatment of pain and fever or hot water for the treatment of sore throat, etc.

Prevention of human coronavirus

A) Wash your hands after sneezing or coughing.

B) Cover face before coughing or sneezing.

C) If you think you are infected, avoid intimacy with any person.

D) Avoid eating uncooked meat and eggs.

E) Keep yourself hydrated all the time.
