The world’s first solar-powered Solar Impulse aircraft has crossed the Pacific Ocean. It has completed a three-day flight into the Pacific Ocean. News from the BBC.
The solar plane flew over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco on Saturday evening. The plane is scheduled to land in California. The plane took off from Hawaii on Thursday.
The plane was useless for eight months after its battery was damaged on a flight to Japan. Later it was repaired. After a long hiatus, the plane resumed flights on Thursday. The aircraft has completed 9 successful trips.
After the plane took off, its pilot Bertrand Picard said with great enthusiasm, I crossed the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Officially I am now in the United States.
The Solar Impulse aircraft started its journey from Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates in March last year. The plane has two pilots for separate flights. The plane traveled to Japan via Oman, India, Myanmar, and China.
